Sensory Experiences Reflecting The EYLF
Sensory exploration has an important role in children’s development, it can be a child’s way of examining, discovering, categorising and making sense of the world. Research shows that if we provide experiences that engage children by using their senses, they are more likely to have a deeper understanding and make meaning of what they are learning.
This book has been divided into chapters in relation to the 7 senses. This includes the five main senses of touch, smell, sight, taste and sound, as well as two not as frequently mentioned senses – vestibular and proprioceptive.
